What is the Bottango Firmware

A computer on its own doesn’t have the hardware you need to control real world motors. In order to control a real robot with Bottango, you need not just the desktop application, but properly working hardware as well.

The desktop Bottango application you use to set up your projects and animate is one half of the two sides of the Bottango workflow. The other half is the open-source, C++ Arduino Framework compatible firmware.

Documentation for the desktop application is covered in the Learn Bottango section of this documentation. This section deals with choosing and preparing hardware, and how to modify the firmware for your own use cases.

Just like with the desktop app documentation, the pages have hints about how advanced a given topic is. It’s recommended if you’re just starting out to only read the essential and basic pages, and come back for a deeper dive when you’re ready.
