Understanding Each Control Board
Pro version control boards
Section titled “Pro version control boards”Your pro kit comes with two control boards.
Bottango Solar
Section titled “Bottango Solar”In the Captain Cogbrow Pro Upgrade kit, the larger of the two included boards is Bottango Solar. Bottango Solar has 10 servo channels and can connect wirelessly to a Bottango Nova control board.
But it also has some other powerful features:
- Audio hardware to playback audio
- Audio output over line out (the headphone style audio jack)
- A small audio amp to output audio directly to speakers, and speaker connectors.
- A volume control knob.
- An SD card module for storing audio files.
- You can also store animation data on that same SD card for playback without a connected computer.
- Three animation trigger buttons to trigger exported animations

Bottango Nova
Section titled “Bottango Nova”Animatronic control needs fast response time. Bottango Nova connects to your computer and creates a low latency wireless connection which Bottango Solar uses to communicate wirelessly with your computer at the speed required for animatronic control.
You can also store animations on Bottango Nova, and control your Bottango Solar wirelessly in exported animation mode. More functionality with Bottango Nova is planned as well.

Standard Version Control Board
Section titled “Standard Version Control Board”There is a single, simpler control board in the standard edition. This control board has 10 servo channels (7 of which are used by Captain Cogbrow). It also has the ability to connect wirelessly to a Bottango Nova control board, but a Bottango Nova control board is not included in the standard version, only the pro version.
The standard version control board does not have an SD card reader for storing animations, or hardware to play audio and connect speakers. But it is a great way to easily control 10 servos with Bottango’s animation software.
