What is Bottango?

Bottango is a visual, 3D tool for intuitive and powerful robot control. Its goal is to allow your artistic intent to be easily and accurately expressed on real-world hardware.

Bottango is inspired by the modern 3D animation workflow. It brings familiar keyframe animation and Bézier interpolation from “screens only” to a workflow and technology stack optimized for real-world robotics.

Bottango operates in real time. If you move the eyebrow of an animatronic face in Bottango, the eyebrow of your robot moves too.

Bottango is hardware agnostic. It’s not designed to work with only “this robot” from “that manufacturer.” It provides a free desktop authoring environment and open-source Bottango firmware based on the Arduino framework that runs on countless hardware setups and robotics projects.

Bottango is for everyone. Bottango has been used by first-time builders all the way up to industry professionals. Bottango has been used in projects ranging from garage hobby builds up to major theme parks, TV, and movies.
